A new version of the Sandy 3D engine has just been released. Due to time constraints, my contribution has been zero this time.
The new version is more stable and faster than the previous ones. If you’re upgrading from a previous version you should be aware that some things in the API have been changed. Be sure to check out the “3.0.2 to 3.1 AS3 version upgrade” article when you plan on doing this.
There are a bunch of new features which include automatic texture loading, extrusion tools, caching, pixel effects, MD2 animation and a Mode7 renderer.
A haXe version is in the pipeline as well. There is no official release yet, but you can download the current build from the Sandy subversion repository.
You can even code & compile Sandy 3.1 files online because the new version has been added to Wonderfl‘s supported libraries. If you don’t know Wonderfl be sure to check it out. It enables you to create Flash files online inside the browser.
Sandy 3.1 can be downloaded from this page.
